Spring Maintenance Checklist
- Check grading and downspouts to assure water drains away from the house.
- Clean gutters, strainers and downspouts.
- Check roofing and valleys for excessive wear or potential leakage.
- Plant flower beds with annuals & perenials for colorful yards.
- Fertilize your yard and flowerbeds with recommended application.
- It's time for crab grass preventer.
- Have your heating/cooling system inspected.
- Seal cracks in driveway and walks.
- Check weather strips on windows and sweeps on doors.
- Caulk around doors and windows then paint exterior as needed.
- Clean the carpeting to remove grime.
- Have the lawn mower and trimmer tuned up for spring.
- Spray for insects and check for termites.
- Check outside faucets for proper operation.
- Change batteries in smoke detectors and check operation.
- Update a room every six months.
- Clean drains with drain cleaner.
- Check sump pump system.
- Clean the fireplace flue and firebox.
